Cuanbeo Marquee event programme

Cuan Beo returns to Cruinniu na mBad 2018  with a fantastic line-up of speakers and local chefs who will be presenting in the Cuan Beo Marquee this coming weekend (Sat 11th and Sun 12th August). The Marquee will be located on the Quay in Kinvara and talks and cooking demonstrations will run every 30 minutes from 12.30 till 5pm each day. I have attached the final programme together with an information poster for your information. Our theme for this year is ‘Linking the land with the sea – A holistic approach to creating a sustainable future for Galway Bay’. The topics chosen are based on feedback from attendees during our community meetings that were held earlier this year. There is something for everyone so please do circulate it to your friends.

Speakers will be presenting on the Festival Main Stage on a broad range of topics including water quality, plastics pollution, sustainability, native oyster restoration, seafood, marine heritage, seaweed foraging and more.

The Marquee will also house the European Region of Gastronomy (ERG) Kitchen Stage where chefs from local restaurants will cook their signature seafood dishes throughout the day. The audience will have the opportunity to interact with the chefs and sample the dishes prepared.

The Marquee will also house an aquarium where children can learn all about the sea and meet some of the various creatures that live in it. A marine trash stand & Rope and knotwork demonstrations will also run throughout the weekend. Local community groups and agencies including the Waters & Communities Office, Plastic Free Kinvara, Galway Atlantaquaria, Galway County Council, Marine Institute and more will be available to meet and tell you more about their work.

All Cuan Beo events are free of charge and suitable for all ages. For more info check the Cuan Beo Facebook page or email cuanbeo@gmail.com
