Policy & Political Engagement

To effectively inform policy and engage various political spheres and levels of Government, Cuan Beo has published several reports to evidence the need for improved catchment water quality governance, justify native oyster restoration efforts, and evidence the ecosystem services a thriving Galway Bay and Catchment 29 provides. See a selection of these reports below.

Cuan Beo members contribute to conferences, workshops, working groups, and national and international research alliances to influence dialogue and action at local, regional, and national water quality, nature-based solutions, and oyster reef restoration discussions.

Cuan Beo also makes submissions to planning authorities and consultation phases of action plans and projects, guided by science and driven by community and water quality considerations.
