THIS IS A FREE EVENT
Please join us for a celebration of the Native Oyster in Galway bay for local fishermen, local people and the public between 7pm and 10pm on Thursday 12th September. It will be an enjoyable evening of entertainment and seafood with archive film footage, panel type discussion, storytelling, and science to inform the visitors about the importance of the oyster in the past, outline the present situation and frame a vision for the future.
An All-Island Oyster tasting will be held with oysters available from all 7 fisheries remaining on the Island of Ireland.
There will also be an opportunity to sample local mussels and clams while brown bread is baked in the marquee with cooking demos from old recipes.
